Breaking Him by RK Lilley 5***** REVIEW by Vanessa

Breaking Him by R.K. Lilly

It’s love, it’s war and it’s Scarlett and Dante’s story.

It was the kind of relationship where I invested more than I had to spare.

I gave it everything.

And so when it failed, I lost myself.

It changed me. He changed me.

I went down with the ship.

My soul, burnt embers in the aftermath.

The fire of him ravaged it all.

He burned me.

Broke me.

Scarlett had always dreamed big. She was headed straight for Hollywood. Destined for silver screen greatness.

But in her wildest dreams she never imagined she’d be broke and single at twenty-eight, doling drinks at thirty-five thousand feet.

She was a glorified waitress in the skies.

It had been years since she’d seen him.

But one day, there he sat, gazing intently at her, ready to set everything ablaze once more.

Dante wanted her. Again.

Sure, she’d play along…but this time, it was his turn.

She was breaking him.

After all, love is war.

Review by Vanessa

I must begin this review by saying I love the style of writing by RK Lilley and have read most of her books and loved them all. Well what can I say? R.K. has done it again. She has me going insane over Scarlett and Dante. I have a hard time saying this is a LOVE story. It’s more like a story of HATE. It’s a story of the pieces left scattered from a WAR once called LOVE. Who will get the last jab? Who will get the biggest payback for the casualties left over after love wasn’t enough?

Scarlett is a child rejected from birth. She was thrown away only to be taken in by someone who hated her as well. She learned to defend herself relentlessly until the day someone did it for her. That day changed the course of her life forever. She had finally met someone who would fight for her against anyone. What she didn’t know is that one day he would be the one she fought against.. just as fiercely

Dante is a child born into wealth but wealth doesn’t mean happiness. There is a lot of heart ache he will live through but one thing he does know is he will not stand by and watch someone so small yet feisty be left alone to the cruelty of others. He will do whatever it takes to help her. He finds someone else in his life that will help and that’s all he needs. His ally will bring them together and love them equally. But what happens when the person you want to save is the one you hurt the most?
