Paige in Progress by Brighton Walsh 4***Review

Paige in Progress

Book three in the Reluctant Hearts series

In this funny and wildly sexy New Adult novel from the author of Caged in Winter and Tessa Ever After, two people find love where they least expect it.

She wanted a one-night stand...and then he moved in next door.

Paige Bennett is more than content with her life and what she does--and does not--have in it. She's got a supportive family, a great apartment, and the best friend a girl could ask for; so what if her relationships expire faster than a carton of milk? After a disastrous detour courtesy of poor judgment in the boyfriend department, her plan is back on track and her dream job is finally within her grasp. Nothing can make her lose focus now. Well, nothing except the one-night stand she had with her best friend's surrogate brother. The one-night stand she can't stop thinking about.

Adam Reid has always been reliable...the responsible son, the loyal friend, the steady boyfriend. Two years ago, he graduated Magna Cum Laude and is well on his way to making a name for himself at an accounting firm in Denver--a far cry from working as a helper in the Mom and Pop store his parents own in Michigan. But when said store starts failing, he's the only one who can step in and help. So reliable Adam does what he always does, and he comes to the rescue.

Paige thought Adam was a safe bet because he lives halfway across the country. But then suddenly he's moving back to their town, and then into her apartment building, and soon he's worming his way right into her life. If she's not careful, he might sneak his way into her heart, too...

An opposites attract full length contemporary romance featuring a one-night stand turned to more between a strong-willed, smart-lipped heroine and the hot as sin, alpha hero she can't get enough of.

Review by Karla

Loved this witty story of a one night stand turned into a non-relationship love story. Brighton Walsh’s writing has a easy flow that makes it very a quick and enjoyable read. I was literally laughing out loud at the one liners;  “he’s dickmatized me”, “stop being such a testicle”, “what the fuck is ‘Man Hurt’” to say a few.

Paige is determined to succeed in her new career by avoiding relationships at all costs, until she has a one night stand that haunts her. The piercing blue eyes she cannot forget, those eyes belonging to Adam Reid, who lives several states away. He too, has not been able to forget Paige. Adam is set on dating her for the summer during his return to stabilize his parents sporting shop. With Paige avoiding him, Adam cleverly challenges her to non-date date nights where romance is not allowed. They share the same interests and everything is turned into a game where winner collects anything they want, and Adam wants… a kiss. Boy, oh boy….and that kiss was hot!!! There was so much sexual build up, it made my ovaries hurt! Paige and Adam’s chemistry was sizzling hot! This is 3 book of the Reluctant Hearts series, but can be read as a stand alone.

Rating Scale 4 stars

Hotness: Yes, so much sexual build up, it made my ovaries hurt! Their chemistry was sizzling hot!

Storyline:  Love the storyline, Adam wants a relationship and Paige only wants sex. It’s a witty and quirky story.

Money Well Spent: Arc issued, but I would have definitely purchased it on my own.

Alpha Male Scale: Big fat 9 for sweet, caring, relationship-loving Adam. He sure did turn up the furnace when it came down to anything Paige. He made me swoons for his alpha maleness.

Would you recommend the book to your girlfriends?   YES! Read it, you’ll enjoy it!
